A word to the wise. Any team thinking about purchasing a Nike strip may wish to reconsider. Last season I waited nearly 2 months for delivery of kit, getting them just in time for season KO. This season we are expanding our squad to run 2 teams and have been waiting nearly 3 months for new kits to arrive. I must praise the efforts of K Sports who have tried extemely hard to resolve this but they get fobbed off with conflicting excuses or promises from Nike that dont get honoured. It now looks like i am going to have to buy alternate kits, an expense and hassel we can do without so close to the season.

All:

Some good news that I wish to share with you all.

Last Saturday (5th July 2008) I received a letter from the Football Association , which read:

"I'm delighted to inform you that following your nomination by your County Football Association, you have been chosen as one of our National Football Workforce Award Winners 2008."

I have been invited to Wembley Stadium to receive the award at the FA Community Shield (Manchester United Vs Portsmouth, Sunday 10th August) as a VIP guest of the FA. I will be presented the award on the Wembley pitch.

I did not know until I received this letter that Sheffield & Hallamshire CFA had nominated me for this award, so this has all come as a complete surprise to me.

The FA have only given out approx 30 National Workforce Awards since its inception in 2004.

The award is to do with my involvement with Bessacarr FC (http://www.bessacarrfc.co.uk/ ) & Doncaster Junior Sunday Football League.

So I am completely honoured and "over the moon" about this award.

Thanks

Nathan

Is this web site supposed to be representing the Boys sunday league and if so why do we not get the leagues updated more promptly.I agree you need the info from the relevant administrators before this website can be updated , but don't you think it is not creating the right impression and image the league should be striving to achieve.
Replied on: 9:50pm 06-26-2008

I understand your frustrations and appreciate your understanding regarding the provision of results via the age group administrators.
The website can not be updated until Friday morning of the previous Sundays game as per the sponsorship deal with the free press.
The results provided have been available to view on the relevant Friday.
I suggest any complaints or queries regarding the results/tables on the website are raised with the league committee as I can only deal with the information provided.
As a third party it is not my responsibility to chase Administrators etc for missing results, however this has been the case.
Please bare in mind that the website is in its first year and can only improve.

Regards
James

This is true and when the League Administrators provide the details the Web editor who is a third party can update them.
Another query clubs should raise directly with the League Secretary or Administrators for the relevant age groups.

Moorends Stingers U8's currently school year 3 are looking for a very good goalkeeper to join ready for next season and one defender. We will consider all applicants although spaces in our squad our very limited. We have recruited some top players ready for next season with 5 of the current squad training at Leeds Utds Doncaster Development Centre.

If you don't know about our club we are the only "Community Charter Standard" club in the Doncaster league and are currently having a state of the art playing surface laid along with a brand new clubhouse. This is costing around £800k.

If want to come down and have trials emails to: ryangreaves@sky.com or ring me on: 07766505165

Alternatively we are temporarily training behind the Rising Sun pub (side of canal bridge) Thursdays 6:15pm - 7:45pm
